Another month has gone by and things are really happening around here! I've been approached by Living France Magazine to give an interview about our lives here in France and about my new Metal Art Business. Really exciting stuff! We're reliably informed that the article will appear in their March issue - so keep an eye out for that one!
I've had a request for a commission job come through that I'm quite excited about, it's a rod structure based on a drawing that the client has tattooed (you can see the weather vane I made based on the picture for the same client back in the summer.)
So far, I've made the sword for it and drawn out the sizing on the kitchen floor! The kids were excited about the sword though, and chalk drawing in the house has kind of become a thing here now - sorry Kate!!
I'll be adding a few more photos to the main project pages over the course of the build, so keep checking back, but for now, a photo of my two excited children with a sword!
Final update - I've framed out and begun making the newest bird of prey, this one is perched and my vision for it is that it will eventually end up sat on a gate post (there are a lot of gated properties around here!) I'll probably end up using it as an advert for my workshop by putting it on top of a sign once the studio is finished.
The framing out is often the most time consuming part of the build because once you start with the fine details, it's really tricky to change the main structure of it. So getting it right first is really important. I've chopped this particular frame about a couple of times before I was completely happy with it. I'm ready to show it off a bit now and once it's finished there will be a few more photos and a video to accompany it. If you want to be first to see it - photos are uploaded regularly to the Facebook page as well as Instagram - so pop over and give us a like or a follow!
