For his dayjob, Darren works as a Mechanic. He's been in the motor trade for 18 years and as an apprentice, he put himself through a welding course (which was handy for welding up all of the Morris Minors his boss gave him to do!)
Since then, he's made a bit of life change and moved with his family to France. Since the move, the mechanic side of things has continued, but having some extra time allowed Darren the freedom to explore other avenues.
He started out on this path making weather vanes on a commission basis. When this slowed, he began to create larger pieces - including a bird of prey with a wingspan of 5 feet; an owl mid swoop and a peacock with a tail fan of 7 feet wide. These pieces have all sold quickly and are finished to the highest standards. The pieces so far have been designed for outside summertime display and so are lacquered to give some weather protection*. His current projects include a carp and a dragon.
You can check out his works via blog posts that will follow and keep an eye on his current works progress.

*(For over winter storage, pieces will be supplied with separate stands so that they can be kept indoors/sheltered areas)
